Gemini Lighting Solutions (GLS) is delivering a phased lighting control system upgrade for a commercial office building, Nexus House, at 25 Farringdon Street. The building previously used an obsolete ALC/Greengate lighting control system, no longer supported and without spare parts available.
GLS is upgrading the building with a modern Dynalite system while reusing key elements of the existing infrastructure, including BUS cable, spine, power, and switches. New pluggable and hardwired LCMs, surface and recessed sensors, as well as a new front-end system have been integrated, improving both usability and energy efficiency.

System features

The upgrade introduces enhanced functionality across multiple floors including scene set plates for better meeting room control, daylight dimming for energy savings, and a significantly improved front-end interface offering expanded capabilities. The phased rollout allows for continued support of legacy systems where necessary, while progressively enhancing system performance and user experience across the site.
A key enhancement was the replacement of the outdated ALC front end with Dynalite’s System Manager software. Unlike the ALC interface, which required extensive training for facilities staff to perform basic tasks, System Manager offers an intuitive, user-friendly interface that is easy to learn and operate.
