Project Honey is a SMART building-enabled space, designed for advanced lighting control and monitoring systems to provide a seamless user experience and enhanced building efficiency. Phase one, the Cat-A fit out was completed in November 2024. It includes all landlord areas across three buildings, and external landscape lighting to give a Campus feel. Unilever have taken the campus for their new Global Headquarters.
Unlike traditional buildings, a smart building can dynamically adjust to the needs of its occupants, such as modifying lighting or temperature based on occupancy patterns or environmental conditions. It can use advanced systems such as sensors, automation, and data analytics to monitor and control various building functions, from lighting and HVAC to security and energy.
Data gathered from these systems enables predictive maintenance, reducing downtime and extending equipment lifespan. This integration of technology fosters a more sustainable and usercentric environment, providing real-time insights and unprecedented control over building management.
The building features:
– DALI-2 lighting networks with monitoring and emergency testing capabilities
– DyNet2 high-speed SELV local user control and sensor networks for optimal lighting control
– A front-end PC with a System Manager GUI for centralized management and real-time data access
The buildings were designed with flexibility to enable future upgrades for full SMART building integration. The lighting system feeds data back to a central building PC, to allow a third-party platform to monitor and control all aspects of the lighting system through BACnet and OPC interfacing. This integration can allow complete control over lighting levels, DALI driver status, device connectivity, temperature adjustments, and lux level readings from sensors. Emergency test records can also be displayed on a SMART platform, streamlining compliance and maintenance.
