Project team

Gemini Lighting Solutions (GLS) was appointed to deliver the complete lighting control system for the Templeton Garden Hotel in Kensington, a luxury hospitality development combining boutique charm with intelligent technology. The project spanned all front-of-house areas, including 162 guest rooms, corridors, dining areas, library, café, bar, gym, and garden spaces.
The hotel features a bespoke Dynalite system offering both energy efficiency and elevated guest experience. Lighting control is achieved through a combination of DALI and trailing-edge dimming systems, supported by Dynalite control infrastructure and scene-based wall controls.

System features

A key highlight of the design is the ‘Welcome Scene’ which is automatically initiated upon guest entry, creating a warm, inviting environment. Guests retain full control over local lighting groups, with on/off and dimming options provided via Antumbra switches.

GLS introduced a unique occupancy algorithm integrated with absence detection, allowing the system to identify when a room is vacant and shift it into set-back mode to conserve energy. Public and leisure spaces; reception, restaurant, café, bar, gym and gardens are managed through DALI and trailing-edge dimming, all coordinated by a central Dynalite System Manager GUI.
