The objective was to redesign and modernise the hotel’s existing lighting control system while minimising disruption and maximising the value of the existing infrastructure.
The original system consisted of 11 dimming racks, scene-setting plates and a staff touchscreen interface. GLS redesigned the system architecture using current Dynalite equipment, reducing the number of dimming racks from 11 to 5 while improving overall functionality and efficiency.
New scene-setting plates were installed within meeting rooms, alongside a new colour touchscreen interface that allows staff to easily manage events, timed schedules and lighting scenes across the venue. The system incorporates leading-edge, trailing-edge and DALI dimming to support a wide range of lighting types and future upgrades to luminaires and lamp technologies.
A key aspect of the project was the retention of the existing DyNet wiring network, significantly reducing installation disruption and helping deliver a cost-effective upgrade path.
